PRIVACY
Your information.
Your choices.
How we handle your inquiry, protect personal information and help you exercise your privacy rights.
Effective October 20, 2026 · Applies to riezzinc.com and inquiries submitted through this website.
Our responsibility and applicable law
Riezz Inc., based in Kitchener, Ontario, is responsible for personal information under its control. This notice describes how we handle website inquiries about our clean energy, real estate and project management consulting services, and how you can exercise your privacy rights.
Our approach is guided by the accountability, consent, transparency, limited collection, safeguards and individual access principles of Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). PIPEDA generally governs personal information handled in Ontario commercial activities, subject to its scope and exceptions. Alberta and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Acts and Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25, may apply where our activities fall within their scope. Cross-border commercial handling may also engage PIPEDA. Your location alone does not determine every applicable requirement. See the Privacy Commissioner’s explanation of Canadian privacy laws.
What we collect and why
- Name and email address: to identify your inquiry, communicate with you and respond to your request.
- Phone number: to provide another way to follow up about the request.
- Location: your city or town and province, to understand the project’s region and service needs. A full street address is not requested.
- Project description: up to 1,000 characters, to understand the work, assess whether we can assist and discuss scope and next steps.
- Correspondence and consent information: the content of your inquiry, confirmation of the form consent and subsequent communications needed to manage the request.
- Technical information: hosting and email services may process IP addresses, browser or device details, request times and delivery or security logs to operate the website, deliver messages and prevent abuse.
We limit collection to information reasonably needed for these purposes. The form requires the listed contact and project fields. You can choose not to submit it; without sufficient information, we may be unable to assess or respond to the request. If you prefer a different way to communicate or do not want to provide a particular detail, reply to an existing Riezz Inc. correspondence to discuss alternatives.
Please do not submit financial account details, identification documents, health information or personal information about tenants or other people through this form. Use a general project description. If a later engagement requires additional information, its purpose and handling will be addressed at that stage.
Your consent and choices
The form asks for your agreement to use and disclose the submitted information as described here to review and respond to your inquiry. This includes delivery through the service providers described below. We will seek additional consent for a materially different purpose unless the law permits or requires otherwise.
You may withdraw consent to future optional use or disclosure by contacting our privacy contact below, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. We will explain any consequences, such as being unable to continue discussing your project. Withdrawal does not undo processing already completed or prevent retention required by law.
Submitting an inquiry does not subscribe you to a newsletter or promotional mailing list. This website does not operate one. Any future marketing program must address applicable requirements of Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), including an appropriate consent basis, sender identification and an unsubscribe option where required.
Service providers and disclosures
We do not sell or rent inquiry information. We disclose it only as reasonably needed for the stated purposes, with your consent, or where permitted or required by law.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and runs the contact form handler.
- Resend processes the form’s contact details and message to deliver the inquiry by email.
- Google’s email services store and process inquiries delivered to our business inbox and related correspondence.
Authorized people handling inquiries for Riezz Inc. may access information needed for their work. Professional advisers or authorities may receive information when reasonably necessary to meet legal obligations, obtain advice or establish or defend legal rights, as permitted by law. A consulting engagement involving other advisers or additional disclosures will be addressed separately.
Processing outside Canada
Our hosting, delivery and inbox providers may process or store information in Canada, the United States or other countries. We do not promise Canadian-only data residency. Information processed abroad may be accessible to courts, law enforcement or other authorities under local law.
Riezz Inc. remains accountable for information transferred for processing and is responsible for using appropriate contractual or other measures to provide comparable protection under applicable law. Ask our privacy contact if you have questions about these arrangements. Read the providers’ notices: Cloudflare, Resend and Google. Provider notices supplement this notice; they do not replace our responsibilities. See also the Commissioner’s cross-border processing guidance.
Retention and disposal
We retain inquiry information only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage related business correspondence and meet applicable legal or recordkeeping needs. The relevant period depends on whether the inquiry leads to an engagement, remains active or relates to a dispute or legal requirement; this website does not impose one fixed retention period for every record.
Information no longer needed should be securely deleted, destroyed or anonymized. Records subject to an access request or legal hold must be preserved as required. Email, backup and provider log copies may remain for applicable provider retention and backup cycles. You may ask us about the retention of your particular inquiry or request deletion, subject to lawful exceptions. This approach follows the Commissioner’s retention and disposal guidance.
Safeguards and privacy incidents
On the hosted site, HTTPS protects information in transit. The form uses server-side validation and a server-side email handler; email delivery credentials and the destination inbox address are not embedded in public page code. No separate inquiry database is created by this website. These controls do not make email or internet transmission risk-free.
Riezz Inc. is responsible for maintaining reasonable organizational, physical and technical safeguards appropriate to the information’s sensitivity, including limiting access to people who need it and protecting the accounts used to handle inquiries.
If a privacy incident occurs, we will assess it and meet applicable containment, recordkeeping, reporting and notification requirements. Under PIPEDA, breaches creating a real risk of significant harm must be reported to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and notified to affected individuals as soon as feasible; records of all breaches of security safeguards must be kept for at least 24 months. Other applicable laws may add requirements. See the Commissioner’s breach guidance.
Access, correction and other requests
You can ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access and an explanation of its use and disclosure, and challenge its accuracy or completeness. You can also request correction, consent withdrawal or deletion where applicable. Deletion is not an unconditional right to remove records we are legally entitled or required to keep.
We may request proportionate information to verify your identity and authority before releasing or changing records. Do not send identity documents through this form unless we have arranged an appropriate method. Access is generally provided at little or no cost; we will advise you of any permitted charge in advance.
For access requests governed by PIPEDA, we will respond within 30 calendar days of receipt, subject to extensions permitted by law. If an extension or refusal applies, we will provide the required explanation and information about complaint rights. Access may be limited by lawful exceptions, such as another person’s privacy or solicitor-client privilege. Our usual 3–5 business day inquiry response estimate does not replace statutory deadlines. See PIPEDA access request guidance.
